This mod replaces your default message bar with one that has message and sound suppression and a lighter unobtrusive graphics. It also has the ability to filter messages, however this release is limited to one filter.

Ensure that your client is not running. Otherwise you will have to fully restart the There client after install.
The application is provided via an installer located at the bottom of this page.
Simply run the installer and ensure your installation points to your correct installation folder.
If you've installed There into a folder other than the default above you will want to install it there.
(It will try to detect this)
Uninstallation
A backup of the There original messagebar application is provided if you want to restore it and uninstall the mod.
Simply delete the messagebar.swf and rename messagebar.original.swf back to messagebar.swf and restart the client.
The defualt location is C:\program files\there\thereclient\resources\messagebar\
Other than the visual appearance the mod is almost identical to the original messagebar.
There are several additions to the message bar itself. 3 buttons have been added in particular.
The [R] button will reload the config file, and is used after making changes to the config.
The [S]/[H] toggle button stands for Show/Hide and funtions as a suppression toggle.
Pressing it will toggle it to a red [H] meaning that messages are being hidden and all messages are supressed.
Pressing it again will show [S] meaning that messages are being shown.
The close button has been changed a down arrow indicating minimize, the messagebar never actually closes, it slides down out of sight.
Using the official bar you have to go all the way through the menu to open the messagebar if there isn't an active message.
Now there is a little tab on the screen always that will allow you to maximize the messagebar.
This tab will allow you to easily bring up the mesagebar to either, see filtered messages or toggle the supressor off or simply review a message you missed.
The bboy messagebar mod allows for the supression of certain messages as well as sounds. This is all configured via a config file included in the installation.
The config file is named messsagebar.conf located in the messagebar folder. It is a regular text file and can be edited with notepad, the default file contains the following.
soundOn=1&SoundSYSOn=0&SoundBTNOn=1&msgHideAll=0&filterString=&filterMute=1
The options are as follows, defaults are bold:
soundOn - 0/1(off/on) - Toggles all message and button sounds on or off.
SoundSYSOn - 0/1(off/on) - Toggles system messages sounds on or off. The annoying repetetive one on system messages and prompts.Plonk Plonk
SoundBTNOn - 0/1(off/on) - Toggles button interaction sounds - BROKEN
msgHideAll - 0/1(off/on) - Toggles default message suppression status on load.
filterString - NULL - Message filter string. Wilcard is "?".
filterMute - 0/1(off/on) - Toggles filtered message sounds on or off.
filterString is a single filter to filter your messages, the message will still be logged but the messagebar will not popup and if the filterMute is set to 1 there will be no noise either.
As of this version there is only one filter, this will be expanded in the next version to many.
Samples for filterString
"? has entered zone ?" Will filter messages of people entering your zones. Hood owners will love this.
"Welcome to ?" Will filter messages you get when entering a zone. Nice when exporing in boats etc.
"? has invited you ?" Will filter all invites
